The release date:2022-11-10

Dean Chen received his Ph.D. in Industrial Ergonomics from Linköping University, Sweden in 1997. He is a well-known expert in human-machine interaction research and multimodal interaction research. In 2004, he was selected as a tenured professor at Chalmers University of Technology. Human-machine interaction, multimodal interaction research for more than 30 years, and part-time visiting professor of Tsinghua University, senior expert consultant of Huawei, and expert consultant of FAW Hongqi. Good at car safe driving, intelligent cockpit human-machine interaction project, voice and 3D sound interaction design, etc. He has presided over and participated in more than 20 major engineering projects including the Swedish Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and published more than hundreds of papers with international influence. Dean Chen signed an employment contract with Changsha Automotive Innovation Research Institute on February 18, 2022 (full-time).
At present, the scientific research team headed by Dean Chen has attracted high-level talents from many well-known universities and research institutes including Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, University of London, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, etc. to join the Innovation Institute.
Since 2009, Professor Chen Fang has been committed to promoting the research and application of HMI human-machine interaction in the field of smart cars in China, and has cooperated with enterprises to carry out a number of researches on in-vehicle information system design, active safety, driver assistance systems and driving behavior., and has cooperated with Tsinghua University, Hongjie University, SAE and other institutions to organize conferences and forums for many years to jointly promote the research and development of interaction design in the field of smart cars in China.
Professor Chen Fang's interactive system design methodology in the fields of automobiles and aircraft is at the world's cutting-edge level. His research results have formed the 3D sound interaction quasi-measurement of Swedish fighter jets, and his results of anthropogenic and psychological analysis of in-vehicle entertainment systems have formed the European Union in-vehicle entertainment. The standard reference for system design safety has also formed an important reference for the 3D prompt sound in GB 7258 to the driver's perception of the situation in complex traffic road situations. At the same time, as the chief technical guide of the interaction design standard working group, the expected functional safety standard group, and the intelligent cockpit classification standard group of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering, he led the formulation of the first domestic cockpit interaction design specification (T/CSAE 259-2022 "Vehicle Visual Information Chinese Character Display Specification"). The construction method of the autonomous driving scenario database based on the human factors of expected functional safety proposed by Chen Fang can solve and verify the dangers that may occur in the actual operation of the autonomous driving system under the definition of system operation, and the test driver performs autonomous driving operations. The problem of system safety failures that occur under the operation of all possible offsets of the system design operating domain during the task solves the dilemma that there is still no human misuse of the relevant test scenario library dedicated to the expected functional safety requirements.
